Medieval wash-house

Deep in the historic centre, walking through the streets of Cefalù, it is impossible not to come across the ancient Medieval Wash-house.
This ancient and traditional place represents a glimpse of daily life in the past, of a world that no longer exists.
Women used to go there to wash their clothes, immersing them in tubs, into which, via an underground passageway, the crystal-clear, cool waters of the Cefalino River flowed.

Nowadays, the wash-house certainly remains one of the many characteristic and interesting corners of this beautiful town, in which, by descending a short flight of steps, you will be transported back to another era.
